Donald R. Middleton, Sr.

Donald, passed away January 21, 2021, at the age of 87. He was born on October 1, 1933 in Takoma Park, Maryland, to George L. and Ruth Templeman Middleton.
He graduated from Falls Church High School, Virginia, in 1951. He attended Roanoke College, Salem, Virginia, for 2 years before being drafted into the Army during the Korean War. He attended the University of Virginia, and earned his Law Degree from American University, Washington, D.C., in 1959 where he was elected President of the Student Bar Association. He practiced law in Northern Virginia for several years before accepting a position in the Legal Department of the Del E. Webb Corporation and relocated to Phoenix, Arizona, where and held corporate counsel positions with several other corporations before moving to Las Vegas to serve as General Counsel for a corporation there for ten years before his retirement. He to Arizona in 1997.
During his retirement he and his wife traveled extensively throughout the world, he sang in his church choir, served in various capacities in his church, built homes for Habitat for Humanity, served on the board of Habitat, played a little golf, and engaged in oil painting.
He is survived by a son, Dr. Donald Jr.; a daughter-in-law Dr. Tracy Middleton; a son Jeffrey; a daughter Renee Kaye; a son-in-law, Scott Kaye; five grandchildren: Donald III and his wife Hartsena, Kathryn, Makenzie and Christopher Middleton and Steven Kaye; and two great-grandchildren, Dalton and Tinsley Middleton.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce, who died in 2007, his parents, two brothers, George Jr. and Ralph, and by his daughter, Debra Lake Middleton.
