Combs invites community to ceremony for new district office

The J.O. Combs Unified School District is hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony and open house event to celebrate the grand opening of its new district office at 43371 N. Kenworthy Road in San Tan Valley.

The community is invited to join elected officials, district administration, project partners and other stakeholders as they gather 4-7 p.m.  Wednesday, Jan. 22, for celebratory remarks and a ribbon cutting, followed by facility tours and a catered reception, according to a release.

"This is truly a special occasion for our district to showcase our new home and celebrate our local voters who made this project possible," Dr. Greg Wyman, superintendent, said in the release. "Our new district oOffice, along with the several other beautiful projects completed over the last four years, will continue to elevate our presence in the community and represent our continued growth and ongoing commitment to serving our students by providing them with the best experience, every day."

The district office marks the last of several new construction projects made possible by the support of San Tan Valley voters in the 2016 bond election. The $6 million, 20,000-square-foot building is the new centralized hub for district operations housing open work spaces, modern conference rooms, meeting spaces, and a state of the art board room for Governing Board meetings and other function, the release states.

Other projects recently completed through the support of bond funds include the transportation warehouse facility and Combs Performing Arts Center.

Attendees are asked to RSVP by email or phone to 480-987-5310. For more information about the J.O. Combs Unified School District, go to jocombs.org or call (480) 987-5300.
