Child care scholarships available through J.O. Combs Unified School District

Posted

The J.O. Combs Unified School District is offering a limited number of scholarships for low-income families in need of quality child care.

Made available through Quality First funding from First Things First of Arizona, the district is offering 14 full-time --- or 28 part-time --- scholarships for students ages 3 to 5 to participate in early learning programs, according to a release.

Scholarships may be used for Kinder Prep or Young Coyotes preschool at Ranch Elementary, 43521 N. Kenworthy Road in San Tan Valley. Both programs provide a foundation for early childhood learning and equip students to be better prepared to start Kindergarten.

Kinder Prep is open to 4 to 5 year olds and is taught by a certified teacher, while Young Coyotes is open to 3 to 5 year olds and provides opportunities to grow socially, emotionally, and academically through hands on activities, the release states.

The Quality First Scholarships will be available for use when in-person school resumes for the 2020-21 school year. Families who are not eligible for scholarships but still wish to register may do so on the District website by clicking here.

Families who wish to learn more or apply may do so by contacting Tammy Carley, community education supervisor, at tcarley@jocombs.org or by calling 480-987-5300, ext. 1031.
