Five Central Arizona College transfer students recently completed the requirements from Northern Arizona University toward a bachelor’s degree in industrial leadership.

These five were members of the inaugural class of the 90/30 partnership program between CAC and NAU.

Students completed 90 credits at CAC and the last 30 credits with NAU to complete their Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies in Industrial Leadership.

Central Arizona College Partnership Transfer Graduates are listed below, along with the associate of applied science degree they received at CAC:

  • Zane Ryan Munoz – AAS Heavy Equipment Operations.
  • Angelica M Encinas- AAS Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Eric Daily – AAS Heavy Equipment Operations-CAC & Welding and Machine Tool Technology-Pima.
  • Abel Rosaldo Castaneda Jr. – AAS Manufacturing Engineering.
  • William Henry Hulsey – AAS Welding.

Dr. Joy D'Angelo, faculty and program lead for industrial leadership, stated, “I have been most impressed with the preparation of CAC students in the CAC & NAU 90/30-Bachelor's in Industrial Leadership program. These skilled trades students have mastered their trade and are now prepared with skills to lead in today's industrial workplace. It has been a great honor to work with the CAC skilled trades faculty, staff and students in our new partnership program.”

NAU is the only university in Arizona that offers 90/30 degree programs. Examples of associate degrees that can transfer into the industrial leadership program at NAU are: automated industrial technology, heavy equipment operator, welding technology, and more. As an NAU student, students take university courses in their community for one year and earn their bachelor’s degree without relocating.

NAU is hosting a virtual session to form the next cohort of students wishing to complete the industrial leadership bachelor's degree program 4-5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31. To sign up for the virtual information session, go to nau.edu/statewide-campuses.

Additional information about the 90/30 program is available at http://www.nau.edu/industrial-leadership.

Editor's note: Angela Askey is CAC's executive director of public relations and marketing.
