Central Arizona College, Poston Butte High School celebrate new partnership

Posted

On Wednesday, Jan. 15, a ribbon cutting was held at Poston Butte High School signifying the official launch of CAC Connect, a Poston Butte educational partnership.

CAC Connect is a new and innovative partnership formed between Poston Butte High School and Central Arizona College that provides an office space in the high school Career and College Center where CAC advisors, academic departments and recruiters will meet with students during normal school hours.

Jennifer Montijo, CAC outreach coordinator and Dr. Stacey Berklan, Poston Butte High School assistant principal, shared the benefits students will experience through this partnership.

CAC Connect will allow CAC staff and faculty the opportunity to assist high school students with the exploration of career options, applying online and registering for classes. Students will have convenient access to interact with high school and college staff simultaneously, from the comfort and familiar space of their high school.

Dr. Jackie Elliott, CAC president stated, “We are pleased to collaborate with Poston Butte High School to enhance student learning and to assist students in pursuing their academic goals through higher education. CAC Connect will provide a true learning community for students.”

Editor's note: Angela Askey is CAC's executive director of public relations and marketing. Poston Butte High School is at 32375 N. Gantzel Road in San Tan Valley, in the Florence Unified School District.
