“With great sadness we say goodbye. We were blessed to have you for 80 years, now it’s little Rudy’s turn to enjoy his Mama in heaven. Rest in eternal peace Mama.”

Our beautiful Mother Carmen Lugo Olivas passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 22, 2020. Carmen was born in Phoenix, AZ and raised in Glendale, AZ by her parents Jose and Guadalupe Lugo.

Carmen is survived by her son, Jerry; daughters, Kathy (Oscar) and Veronica (Freddie); 4 grandchildren; and 2 great-grandchildren. Carmen is also survived by her brothers, Arthur Lugo, Ray Lugo, Jose Lugo; and sister, Lupita Flores. Along with countless niece’s nephews and life-long friends.

Carmen is preceded by her son Rudy Jr., her parents and siblings: Damian Lugo, Dolores Lebario, Lucy Duarte, Bernardo Lugo, Manuel Lugo and Tillie Hernandez-Diaz.

Carmen is a retiree from Phoenix Elementary School District. She lived life to the fullest and has traveled the world leaving her footprints across the globe. Carmen was loved by many her beautiful smile was contagious. She was a wonderful Mother and an awesome Nana. She made our life complete.

Please join us for visitation/rosary from 5-9 P.M. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at West Resthaven Funeral Home, 6450 W. Northern Ave., Glendale, AZ. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Saints Simon and Jude Cathedral, 6351 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix, AZ. Interment will be at West Resthaven Funeral Home, following the mass. Reception with follow at Glendale Women’s Club, 7032 N. 56th Ave., Glendale, AZ.
