Business offers Friday auto field trips June 5, 12

Free Spirit Vacations and Events, a 24-year-old Valley tour company, is adapting to current social-distancing concerns by launching "Friday Auto Fieldtrips." Guests can discover Valley attractions from the comfort, safety and security of their own vehicles.

"You can either bring your own food and drinks or stop at suggested establishments before or after the tour," according to a release.

The tour is narrated live over the car radio. The educational tour will highlight many of the local attractions that you may never have taken the time to explore, the release states.

At each stop, the tour guide will discuss what the five cars of visitors are seeing and allow them a few minutes to take photos.

The June 5 schedule includes:

  • Mystery Castle. 800 E Mineral Road in Phoenix.
  • South Mountain  --- Scorpion Gulch, 10919 S Central Ave. in Phoenix.
  • South Mountain --- TV Antenna Lookout
  • South Mountain --- Entrance to use restrooms
  • Talking Stick Arena/Chase Field, 401 E Jefferson St. in Phoenix. Pull over on west side of Chase Field.
  • Heritage Square by Rossen House, 113 N. Sixth St. in Phoenix.
  • Heard Museum, 2301 N Central Ave. in Phoenix.
  • Durant’s Steakhouse, 2611 N Central Ave. in Phoenix.
  • Arizona Biltmore, 2400 E. Missouri Ave. in Phoenix.
  • Wrigley Mansion, 2501 E. Telewa Trail in Phoenix.

The June 12 schedule includes Carefree and Cave Creek, such as:

  • Butterfly World. Arrive early and tour one of the several attractions – Butterfly World, Titanic Exhibit, or one of the restaurants on your own. Gray Wolf Lodge, USS Memorial Gardens at Salt River and Salt River Fields, West World. MacDonald Ranch. El Pedregal and Boulders.
  • Famous persons' homes. Sundial and Carefree Desert Gardens, Frontier Town in Cave Creek.
  • Shopping and lunch on own in Cave Creek. (After the tour visit the Musical Instrument Museum on your own.)

The remainder of June and July schedule for will be announced soon.
