Arizona tops 25,400 cases of COVID-19, with 1,042 deaths

Arizona has added 1,119 cases and 30 deaths of COVID-19 overnight, according to the state Department of Health Services.

As of the morning of Saturday, June 6, the ADHS reports 25,451 cases and 1,042 deaths of the new coronavirus. Also, a total of 380,912 COVID-19 tests have been done in Arizona.

Total deaths due to COVID-19 by county, as of the morning of June 6, are as follows. Data will not be shown for counties with fewer than three deaths:

  • Maricopa County: 489
  • Pinal County: 41
  • Apache County: 49
  • Cochise County: 4
  • Coconino County: 85
  • Gila County: 3
  • Graham County: Fewer than 3
  • Greenlee County: 0
  • La Paz County: Fewer than 3
  • Mohave County: 57
  • Navajo County: 72
  • Pima County: 205
  • Santa Cruz County: 3
  • Yavapai County: 6
  • Yuma County: 24

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough, that clear up in two to three weeks. But it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia, and death for some people, especially older adults and people with existing health problems.
