On Tuesday, July 14, Arizona’s 10 community college CEOs will host a video news conference to showcase the innovative ways that community colleges are working with their communities and business partners to train and retrain workers to help jumpstart the state’s economy during and after COVID-19.

Also speaking will be Ms. Kolu Wilson, workforce administrator for the Arizona Commerce Authority/Office of Economic Opportunity, according to a release.

Examples to be discussed include Google’s IT Support Certificate, a new industry-driven competency training being launched by seven partner Arizona community college districts in partnership with Jobs for the Future. Upon completion, participants will receive a recognized industry credential that will support employment in Information Technology.

The virtual news conference is at 10 a.m.  Tuesday, July 14. The video access will be at pima.zoom.us/j/99970704188.

The general video conference will be followed by separate video conferences hosted by the individual colleges to give details about their programs:

Maricopa County Community Colleges and Coconino Community College are unable to participate, the release states.

Arizona’s 10 college districts serve nearly 300,000 students, nearly double the students served by Arizona’s public universities.  Learn more at www.arizonacommunitycolleges.org.
