Just in time for the Memorial Day weekend, Family Swim at the town’s Recreation & Aquatic Center’s water slides, lazy river, zero-depth entry pool and more starts on Saturday.
The aquatic center will be open for the summer starting at 10 a.m. Family Swim hours run from noon to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m.-2 p.m., Sunday at 22343 E. Ryan Road.
Residents must have an active CivicRec account to purchase a membership or day pass and verify residency within the town limits, according to a town press release.
Residency verification can be completed in person at the Queen Creek Recreation & Aquatic Center or the Queen Creek Library Recreation Annex, 21802 S. Ellsworth Road. Two forms of approved documentation must be provided, a valid photo ID and one proof of residency, such as a utility bill.
Residents who already have a CivicRec account but haven’t verified residency in person, can also stop by the Queen Creek Recreation & Aquatic Center or the Recreation Annex before May 24.
Membership rates are available for individuals, families, seniors, youth, active military and veterans. Visit QueenCreekAZ.gov/Recreation to view the rates.
Non-residents can purchase a day pass when accompanied by a Queen Creek resident who has an active membership or day pass. Each resident may bring up to two non-resident guests.
Things to know before visiting the aquatic center:
No glass containers of any kind are allowed inside the pool enclosure. Aquatics staff will inspect all coolers.
Inner tubes for the lazy river will be provided by the town. Personal inner tubes, rafts or other flotation devices are not permitted.
Children 7 years old and under must remain within arm’s reach of a responsible guardian at all times.
The water slides and high-dive require guests to be at least 48 inches tall.
Outside food is allowed but must be consumed in designated areas only. No food or drinks are allowed in the pool.
Personal flotation devices must be U.S. Coast Guard-approved. These will be checked at the pool entrance.
Recreation Center amenities include an indoor track, fitness area, indoor sport courts, teen room, classrooms and child watch.
Child watch is included in memberships and day passes for no additional fee. A membership or day pass is required for both the child and guardian, and guardians must remain onsite while using child watch.
Recreation Center hours 5:30 a.m.–9 p.m., Monday-Friday; 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Saturday; and 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Sunday.
Membership and day passes do not include access to registration-based programs. Programs at the Recreation & Aquatic Center include a resident and non-resident rate.
