Things to do: Arizona State Fairgrounds launches Ho-Ho Holiday Drive-Thru Fair Food

The Arizona State Fair is hosting its first ever “Ho-Ho Holiday Drive-Thru Fair Food” campaign.

Due to the overwhelming demand for Arizona State Fair drive-thru edible creations event last October, The fair decided to bring back the event --- but with a holiday feel this time around.

Marketing Coordinator for the Arizona State Fair, Brianda Martinez, says the drive-thru event is a one-of-a-kind experience.

“The event is a great place to try traditional fair foods and try new holiday-themed foods that our vendors came up with. The event is drive-thru style which means you never have to leave your car.”

The event is selling normal fair food, but people are encouraged to try the holiday favorites such as gingerbread funnel cake, Christmas cannoli’s and Christmas fried bread.

Additionally, vendors will be selling all the classic fair favorites, which include the famous turkey leg, you can also find traditional fry bread and fried Oreos at the fair as well.

Since the food fair will be done through a drive-thru, the staff has ensured that efficacy is a top priority, so people aren’t stuck in a line all night.

“We have improved the layout of our drive-thru event so guests can get their food in a timely manner. We also encourage guests to come early to experience no wait time,” Mrs. Martinez said.

With the surging numbers of COVID-19 cases that are all around the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Arizona State Fair staff is enforcing strict safety precautions to ensure a happy and healthy event for all.

“All of our staff is required to follow strict guidelines and are required to wear masks for their own health and our guests’ health. Additionally, all our guests are encouraged to wear masks,” Mrs. Martinez said.

Since the event will be taken place in a drive-thru style the Arizona State Fair believes it is a safe event for the whole family to be a part of.

The “Ho-Ho Holidays Drive-Thru food fair” will only be available on the weekends --- Dec 10th-13th and 17th-20th --- and with the hours of operations from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Fridays and noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. The event is being held at Arizona State Fairgrounds.

“This will be our first ever holiday food event and we will only be open for 8 days! We encourage everyone to be healthy and safe this year and come out if you can,” Mrs. Martinez said.
