Ruby A. Glynn, 94 of Apache Junction, AZ passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Hospice of the Valley in Chandler, AZ. as the result of a cerebral hemorrhage.
Mrs. Glynn was born and raised in Nutter Fort, WV. She married Donald Glynn on October 10, 1995 in Las Vegas, NV. Don and Ruby were married 25 years.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Donald G. Glynn, two nieces in Medford, OR and two Nephews in Portland, OR. She was the last survivor of 10 siblings.
After high school graduation and during WWII, Ruby worked as a welder on the LST Landing Crafts. She and her first husband did construction work for the Government here in Arizona on the Indian reservations. They also started the construction of the London Bridge in Lake Havasu City, AZ but could not finish it because of material problems. She was a hospital volunteer in Tucson, AZ where she accumulated over 15,000 hours.
Ruby was a Life Member and a Past President of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and a member of the American Legion. She enjoyed volunteering, cooking, baking, sewing - she could never find clothes that fit, eating out, dancing and spending time with her husband Don.
A memorial contribution in memory of Ruby can be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
There will be a Celebration of Life at the American Legion Post 27 (1018 S Meridian Rd., Apache Junction, AZ), Saturday the 14th of November at 11:00am.
