A grant from the Diane & Bruce Halle Foundation will support the expansion of the Free Afterschool Music Program for under-resourced youth at Rosie’s House.
The funding will allow Rosie’s House to grow its program capacity, enrolling 650 students for the 2024-2025 school year and providing 30,000 hours of free music instruction.
Since its founding 29 years ago, Rosie’s House has empowered youth ages 4–18 from underserved communities through music education, leadership opportunities, and wraparound services. With this expansion, Rosie’s House will continue to meet the increasing demand for its transformative programs.
"This new partnership enables us to reach even more students with the power of music, supporting them on their journey to develop critical life skills and achieve their full personal potential,” Becky Bell Ballard, Rosie’s House CEO, shared in a press release.
Rosie’s is one of the largest 100% free after-school music programs nationwide. It provides free music lessons for students from pre-K through 12th grade in a variety of disciplines including strings, winds, brass, mariachi, choir, digital music, piano, guitar and percussion, as well as an early music program for preschoolers.
Rosie’s House is located at 919 E. Jefferson St., in Phoenix.
