The Paradise Valley Unified School District Governing Board recently voted to appoint Chad Caudle as the new principal of Elementary No. 33 commencing with the 2021-22 school year.

The principal at Desert Shadows Elementary School since the 2015-16 school year, Mr. Caudle has worked with his school community to establish a positive and safe environment for students.

His efforts are a reflection of the work and dedication of teachers, staff, students, and families. according to a press release.

The school had many accomplishments and achievements under his leadership including receiving numerous awards, implementing a school-wide STEAM program, as well as various educational opportunities for students and families.

“Mr. Caudle has the experience, vision, and drive to work with the Elementary No. 33 school community to ensure the successful launch for the 2021-2022 school year,” said PVSchools Superintendent Dr. Jesse Welsh in a prepared statement.

Mr. Caudle will assume some initial responsibilities at Elementary No. 33 during the 2020-21 school year, while remaining committed to Desert Shadows Elementary and ensuring a safe and smooth transition back to in-person learning, the release said.

He earned a bachelor's degree in physical education from the University of Wyoming and a master's degree of administration and supervision  from the University of Phoenix.

An educator for 23 years, he was appointed principal in 2007 at Hohokam Elementary School in the Scottsdale Unified School District. After six years at Hohokam, he was named principal of Ingleside Middle School before coming to PV Schools.

As a result of population growth, PV Schools needed a new elementary school in the Sky Crossing area of north Phoenix, the release said.

Cave Butte Development Partners donated 11.49 acres of land in the Sky Crossing Development for a new elementary school to be built.

Elementary No. 33, to be  near Cave Creek Road and Deer Valley Drive, will open in the 2021-22 school year and  will be the thirty-third elementary school in PV Schools’ 107 year history, according to the release.
