Detectives are investigating a shooting scene where a man is suspected of killing his girlfriend and then turning the gun on himself.
Officers responded about 8:15 a.m. March 17 to a home near 83rd Avenue and Broadway Road and were directed to a room where the two were found dead.
Preliminary information suggests the man shot and killed Daisy Ruiz, 41, and then shot and killed himself, according to a Phoenix Police Department release.
Relatives discovered the scene at the home in the 8300 block of West Illini Street after Ruiz was not seen or heard from. The investigation remains active and awaits the findings from the Office of the Medical Examiner, police said.
The man has not been identified pending notification of next of kin.
