A 72-year-old man is dead following a collision Monday afternoon in Phoenix, police said.

William Davis died after the two-vehicle crash about 4:15 p.m. Oct. 2 near 19th and Virginia avenues.

The driver of the other vehicle was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

Preliminary information suggests that Davis was northbound on 19th Avenue when he drifted into oncoming traffic at which time he collided with the second vehicle, according to detectives.

It is not known if impairment was a factor in the collision.
