Drivers should use the eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Broadway or Baseline roads instead, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
In addition, northbound 48th Street will close between Broadway Road and I-10 at 8 p.m. Friday for pavement reconstruction, and the work is expected to last into September. Southbound 48th Street will close between I-10 and Broadway Road from 8 p.m. Friday to 4 a.m. Monday, Aug. 12.
Northbound 48th Street detours:
• From 10 p.m. Friday until 4 a.m. Monday, drivers should use westbound Broadway Road to northbound 40th Street to eastbound University Drive to reach northbound State Route 143.
• Beginning 4 a.m. Monday, use westbound Broadway Road to northbound 40th Street to eastbound I-10 and exit onto the new eastbound I-10 off-ramp at Broadway Road to reach 48th Street north of the closure.
Southbound 48th Street detour: Use westbound I-10 to southbound 32nd Street to eastbound Broadway Road to reach 48th Street south of the closure.
