Hazmat crews put out Waymo electric vehicle fire in Phoenix building

A Waymo electric vehicle fire inside a warehouse required a response by hazmat crews Tuesday morning, according to the Phoenix Fire Department.

The fire was near Buckeye Road and 7th Street and forced the closure of Buckeye Road between 3rd Street and Central Avenue at about 9 a.m., department officials said.

Crews extinguished the fire after a short time and removed the vehicle from the building.
