Great Hearts online to launch national classical academy

Posted

With more than 20 years' experience operating public brick-and-mortar schools and 3 years' experience operating public online schools in Arizona and Texas, Great Hearts Academies is launching a national virtual private school.

Great Hearts Online – National Academy provides an award-winning, accredited, classical virtual school option and an exceptional choice for those accessing ESA funds.

In its inaugural year, Great Hearts Online - National Academy will serve students in grades K-9. The Great Hearts Online private school will add a grade level each subsequent year, growing to K-12.

Great Hearts Online – National Academy, accredited by Cognia, offers two educational models for parents and students to choose from.

1. The teacher-led model blends live and independent learning to foster a relationally rich and flexible learning environment. Students will receive live, small-group instruction in their virtual classrooms with peers four mornings a week. Independent assignments, activities, and labs are completed outside of class time.

2. The flex model offers the most flexibility and freedom for students and families, providing fully asynchronous courses and activities each quarter that can be completed at the student’s pace.

Both models offer live tutoring, office hours, academic interventions, and optional K-2 reading groups to ensure students are thriving. All Great Hearts Online models emphasize human virtue, character development, student wonder and curiosity, and academic rigor.

“Great Hearts Online is designed to give families the flexibility they need without sacrificing educational quality,” said Kurtis Indorf, founder and president of Great Hearts Nova. “Families of all kinds are thriving at Great Hearts Online, and the launch of our GHO-National Academy expands that opportunity to families across the country.”

Why attend Great Hearts Online?

Parent Jonathan Hornok shares that “virtual learning has alleviated many of our frustrations without compromising what we love about homeschooling. The educational community is phenomenal. Our kids’ teachers connect with our children and motivate them toward academic excellence in a way that we as parents could not. Our children also enjoy the daily camaraderie of the online classroom experience. Simply put, our family thrives because we became part of a like-minded educational community not otherwise available in our town.”

Nancy Lipira-Ferrara is the parent of an athlete who needed a different schedule for her daughter’s education without sacrificing quality learning.

“Great Hearts Online offers an exceptional educational opportunity," she said. "Sophia is thriving and able to balance her demanding ballet schedule while receiving a rich, classical curriculum from the comfort of home.”

Why a national private online school?

“Parents across the country are looking for the just-right education options that provide a values-aligned, rigorous, safe, and flexible education for their students,” says Indorf. “Great Hearts Online provides this, and families seek out Great Hearts as a leader in the intellectual and moral formation of students.”
