Fiery head-on collision in Phoenix kills 3

Three people died following a head-on crash Thursday night on 19th Avenue north of Loop 101, police said.

Phoenix police responded to the collision about 11:20 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, and found three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Two of the cars struck each other head-on and caught fire.

The two men in one of the vehicles were taken to a hospital but did not survive their injuries, police said. The driver of the second car was pronounced dead at the scene.

A third vehicle as hit as a result of the head-on collision, but the two people in that vehicle were not injured, authorities said.
