Early morning party in Phoenix turns deadly

Phoenix police detectives are investigating the death of a 33-year-old man who was shot early Saturday morning during a party at a house in the 2800 block of North 48th Lane.
Police responded to a shooting call about 4:20 a.m. Sept. 7 at the home where they found Humberto Ortiz suffering from a gunshot wound. He died at the scene, police said.
Preliminary information is that Ortiz was shot by an unknown suspect who left the area prior to police responding.
If anyone has information on the identity of the suspect, they are encouraged to call into Silent Witness at 480-WITNESS or 480-TESTIGO.
