Deputy Maricopa County attorney named top gang prosecutor

Dan Fisher has received the 2023 Gang Prosecutor of the Year award for his work with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.

Fisher, a deputy county attorney, was recognized recently by the Arizona Gang Investigators Association. He joined MCAO 11 years ago, straight out of law school, according to a release, and for the past eight years he has been “an integral part of the Gang Bureau.”

Fisher was nominated by colleagues “who observed his exceptional dedication during two trials involving the prosecution of members of the West Side City Crips, one of the largest gangs in the Valley,” the MCAO release stated.
