A deadly collision shortly after midnight Sunday started when a vehicle slammed into an Arizona trooper’s car.
One person died in the crash, which occurred at about 12:25 a.m., Nov. 13, along Interstate 10 at Guadalupe Road, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.
A trooper was parked on the freeway at the scene of a car fire when the DPS vehicle was struck by a car traveling east. The vehicle that hit the DPS car, spun into the emergency lane, injuring three people standing near the fire, DPS officials said.
The trooper, the driver of the vehicle that began the string of events and a passenger, along with the pedestrians were taken to area hospitals, authorities said.
The passenger died from injuries. The trooper is in good condition, according to DPS.
