Brewer: Adel best choice for Maricopa County Attorney

My entire career, I have been committed to the safety and well-being of our children. It is critical that we have leaders at every level of government who are committed to the rule of law and providing programs and services that will help our children thrive and prosper in a home that is safe.
There are a number of races on the November ballot, but one of the most important is Maricopa County Attorney. Allister Adel, who was appointed to this role last year, has been a steadfast and principled leader throughout her service, ensuring our criminal justice system is holding criminals accountable and protecting the rights of victims.
From the moment Allister became county attorney, she has focused on a reform agenda that keeps children and families safe. There is a lot going on in the world, and our children are facing many challenges including substance abuse, human trafficking and cyber-bullying. It is comforting to know that we have an advocate in Alister Adel who will do whatever it takes to make sure children and parents have the resources and support to manage these risks.
Throughout my life, I have had the privilege to meet elected officials across the state, but very few have impressed me like Allister. She is a firm but compassionate prosecutor who is focused on doing the right thing for the right reasons, every day.
Our criminal justice system only works if those in power focus on being fair and judicious. In order to accomplish this, we need ethical and steady leadership in the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
We cannot have someone who is swayed by progressive, out-of-state organizations and activities on social media. Allister’s opponent, Julie Gunnigle, has made it very clear that she wants to defund our police, release thousands of violent criminals into our neighborhoods, and base charging decisions on social media pressure rather than the evidence and facts of the case.
This is not only irresponsible, but it is dangerous for Maricopa County families.
The answer is clear: if we want a criminal justice system that provides resources for those who need help, holds criminals accountable and keeps children and families safe, Allister Adel is the right choice for Maricopa County Attorney.
