On Saturday, Nov. 9, join ASU West for the 21st annual Veterans Day Weekend Traditional Pow Wow and Salute to Service.
The centerpiece of the event — the Pow Wow — is a traditional gathering of dancers, drummers, elders, and families. Celebrate Native American culture and honor our veterans with a day of sacred drumming, dancing, and singing.
Guests can browse and purchase handmade art from Native-owned businesses and non-profits while enjoying live music and food trucks on-site.
This free event is open to the public. The day-lone event schedule on Saturday is:
11:30 a.m. - Gourd Dance
Noon - Salute to Service
1 p.m. - Grand Entry
6 p.m. - Gourd Dance
7 p.m. - Grand Entry evening dance
All events are at ASU West Valley campus on the Fletcher Lawn at 4701 W. Thunderbird Road, Phoenix.
As a learning hub for students of all ages and backgrounds, ASU West Valley also supports K-12 learners through ASU Prep Local, Herberger Young Scholars Academy, campus-based youth programs, local school and community partnerships, and extended learning opportunities such as Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.
