Woman, 21, dies from hit-and-run in Glendale

Police still trying to find vehicle, driver

Tony Marie Gonzales, 21, died June 23 from injuries received in a hit-and-run collision near 71st Avenue and Bell Road in Glendale around 8:45 p.m. Monday.

She was transported to a local hospital and prounounced dead later that night. Her next of kin has been notified.

Glendale Police stated on June 24 that the investigation of this event is ongoing, and detectives are attempting to identify the vehicle and driver.

According to the police report, Gonzales was "thrown several feet" by the impact of the collision.

Further details about what caused the collision a block or so west of Arrowhead Towne Center were not available as of Tuesday afternoon.
