24-hour fundraiser has raised more than $17M since 2013

West Valley nonprofits from Peoria to Goodyear are among more than 80 nonprofits participating in Arizona Gives Day, including large and small organizations focused on animal welfare, the arts, child welfare, human rights and more, collected $180,000 in additional prize money during the 24-hour online fund-raising event hosted by The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits and Arizona Grantmakers Forum.

More than 720 organizations participated in the event, presented by FirstBank, to raise a record amount of $3.6 million. Matson Money was a Platinum Sponsor.

The West Valley nonprofits, and the amounts they contributed, are Peoria’s AZK9 Rescue ($2,500), Peoria’s BLOOM365 ($1,000), Avondale’s Homeless Youth Connection ($1,000), and Goodyear’s New Life Center ($1,000).

Since 2013, more than $1.2 million has been given away in prize money. Prizes were available throughout the day in a range of categories including Power Hours, most dollars raised during the last four hours of the day, and for pre-scheduled donations for most dollars donated and unique donors. Sponsors of the incentive prize pool were FirstBank, Thunderbirds Charities and Freeport McMoRan Foundation.

“Once again, Arizonans showed us how this state is bonded by generosity and an unwavering sense of community,” Bryce Lloyd, Phoenix Market President of FirstBank, stated. “This record-setting day of giving is a testament to the dedication and compassion of everyone involved. FirstBank is honored to be the presenting sponsor of Arizona Gives Day, which epitomizes our ‘banking for good’ mantra.”
