Wallick to host annual pet event in Sun City

Fundraiser helps Arizona Humane Society

With the Holidays are fast approaching, John Wallick Jewelers will host its annual fundraiser for the Arizona Humane Society.

The Just BePaws We Love Them fundraiser is scheduled 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at the jewelry store, 10050 W. Bell Road, Sun City. Arizona Humane Society representatives will be on hand to answer questions and have adoptable animals for visitors to interact with. There will also be a raffle to win a one-half carat diamond by guessing how many dog bones are in the container. The guess closest will be the winner. Door prizes and refreshments will also be available.

All proceeds from grab bags and raffles, along with a percentage of store purchases, will go directly to AHS.

The event will also offer store visitors a chance to save on purchases. All jewelry items in the store will be on sale up to 50%. All charge cards are accepted and lay-a-way is offered.

“We are now offering special financing to those who would like it,” said Richard Wallick.

Visitors are also encouraged to bring in items from the AHS shelter wish list. those who cannot attend Dec. 7 can bring in donated items prior to the event. Wish list items include canned dog and cat food (pâté style or ground), dog and cat toys, small-bite dry dog food (for small dogs), peanut butter, canned broth (low sodium), canned chicken and tuna, baby food (meat-only), small fleece blankets, paper towels and various cat and dog supplies. The AHS cannot accept open or expired food; worn linens, fitted sheets, used pillows and mattress toppers; used carpets or carpet rolls; empty prescription bottles; and shredded paper.
