Vistancia to host inaugural Jazz Fest in Peoria

NOLAZ Band to set the mood with live music

 

The Vistancia Jazz Fest takes place 3-6 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5 at Sunset Park, 12458 W. Sunset Point.

Vistancia and the City of Peoria are presenting this inaugural event, which is free and open to the public. It will feature family-friendly fun including live jazz music from NOLAZ Band, food trucks featuring New Orleans cuisine, a beer and wine garden, cigar rolling demonstrations, a kid’s zone complete with inflatables, face painting, crafts, game and more.

NOLAZ Band plays groove and soul music from New Orleans, from The Neville Brothers to Allen Toussaint, traditional brass bands to The Meters, and Lee Dorsey to PJ Morton. The Phoenix-based band features Ted Belledin (keys and sax), Simone Sanchez (vocals), Janet Daniel (drums), Marcus Williams (guitar), Sam Smith (bass), Danny Doyle (trumpet) and Benjie Messer (trombone).

Overflow parking will be available at the Vistancia Mountain Vista Club at 29701 N. Sunrise Point, directly across from Sunset Park.
