Valley Metro is hosting a job fair, 8 a.m.-5 p.m., July 20, at Embassy Suites by Hilton Phoenix Downtown North, 10 E. Thomas Road.

A variety of open positions are available from bus and light rail operators, to mechanics and technicians, to cleaners and landscapers.

In addition to careers and on-the-job training, candidates will also enjoy access to healthcare, PTO/vacation and 401k/retirement. Many of our employers also offer sign-on bonuses and are prepared to make preliminary offers on-site.

“Being a bus operator is a great way to be part of the community,” said Larry Williams, Valley Metro bus operator. “I enjoy coming to work knowing that I have an office view that changes every single day.”

Valley Metro, city of Phoenix and its contractors are seeking applicants for the following:

• Bus, light rail and paratransit operators

• Security and fare inspectors
• Cleaners and landscapers
• Bus and rail vehicle mechanics, technicians and inspectors
• Customer service representatives

“Working in public transportation means that you are part of a diverse team that is essential to the Valley’s economy and mobility,” said Penny Lynch, Valley Metro director, human resources. “This is a great opportunity to grow with us, while also gaining new skills.”
