Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue is set to receive a $5,000 grant from national nonprofit Petco Love in support of their lifesaving work for pets in Maricopa County.
Petco Love is a national nonprofit leading change for pets by harnessing the power of love to make communities and pet families closer, stronger, and healthier, according to a news release.
“Our investment in Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue is part of more than $12 million in investments recently announced by Petco Love to power local organizations across the country as part of our commitment to create a future in which no pet is unnecessarily euthanized,” said Petco Love President Susanne Kogut. “Our local investments are only part of our strategy to empower animal lovers to drive lifesaving change right alongside us. We launched Petco Love Lost, a free national lost and found database that uses photo-matching technology to simplify the search for lost pets.”
Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue is a nonprofit organization that provides a safe haven for cats while finding them loving homes or lifelong shelter, serving Maricopa County.
“This lifesaving investment from Petco Love will help support the care and well-being of the cats in our shelter by providing necessary vaccinations, medical care, sterilization, and general care until adoption. This support is crucial to ensuring every cat receives the best chance for a happy and healthy life,” said 4 Paws President Mariann Peterson.
Since 1996, Sun Cities 4 Paws Rescue has saved the lives of many thousands of cats, and recently opened a new intake & medical center. In 2024, 4 Paws took in 991 cats and kittens and found homes for 892, with the rest finding homes early in 2025. 4 Paws expects its intake and adoption numbers to rise substantially with the new intake & medical center.
