Smith: Dark money OK; we’re not a democracy

Attempts to outlaw “dark money” are means to suppress speech (“A light in the dark: The quest to outlaw ‘dark money,’” Page 4).

It will allow Jacobin thugs like ant ifi and other totalitarians to identify and harass those with whom they disagree. And by the way, The U.S. is not supposed to be a democracy.

For whatever sway they still hold, the framers feared mob rule and set up a republic.
