Business owners: Session on CARES Act to be hosted by city of Peoria Facebook page

Posted

The city of Peoria Facebook page is hosting a session on the CARES Act.

The United States Congress passed, and President Trump signed, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act, or CARES Act, March 27.

The $2 trillion act is a financial assistance package for startups, small and mid-size businesses, including franchisors and franchisees, as well as assitance in other fields.

It is intended to combat the severe economic damage caused by the coronavirus pandemic. One of the most important components of the CARES Act for small businesses and startups is the Paycheck Protection Program which provides business loans through approved lenders under favorable terms and potential eligibility for loan forgiveness.

If business owners need help sorting through the new federal CARES Act or have other questions about resources and how to get help in applying for emergency funding, join the city of Peoria 4 p.m. Thursday, April 2, for a live Facebook question and answer session.

Panelists will include Michael Cohen from the Small Business Development Center and Kristen Slice from ASU Innovation + Entrepreneurship and Peoria Forward.

Ask your questions live during the Facebook session or post on the Peoria Facebook page and they will address them during the show.

Tune in on the city of Peoria’s Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CityofPeoriaAz or on Cox Ch. 11 and CenturyLink Ch. 6509.
