Jan. 8 event will feature campfires, DIY S’more Station, live music, local vendors

Posted

The fourth Second Saturdays event will be themed Camp Peoria, 5-9 p.m., Jan. 8, in Old Town Peoria, at 83rd Avenue between Washington and Jefferson streets.

This is a free, family-friendly event that will feature a night market with a mix of special vendors, outdoor games, and art installations, as well as live music and a variety of performers.

Second Saturdays will take place on the second Saturday of each month until May 14, 2022.

Camp Peoria will feature live musical entertainment by Death Pop, A Girl Named Scot, Ashley Creighton, and Roger Dabsworth from local nonprofit, Preserving Hometown Experiences Music Fund.

Activities will include a DIY fireside S’more Station, where each family will be gifted one s’more kit (while supplies last), a fire pit area located at Axiom Stage, a live blacksmithing demonstration by Fox & Forge, and action sports athletes from BMX Superhero Stunt Team.

Each Second Saturday will showcase a diverse collection of local Peoria vendors offering food and beverages, art, and other unique goods.
