Scorpion Bay Grill receives Peoria mayor’s restaurant of the month award

Posted

Mayor Cathy Carlat awarded Scorpion Bay Grill as the Mayor’s Restaurant of the Month for January 2020.

Desert Troon Companies, the owner of this marina restaurant, has created a get-a-way that balances dining that is casual, yet upscale.

Guests may feast indoors, dine al-fresco with their four-legged friends on the patio built-out over the lake, or paddle up for a meal on the water.

“It feels like paradise in Peoria,” said Heather Miles Austin on behalf of Desert Troon Companies. “What we offer is what you’d expect at a high-end resort and we are proud to serve up exceptional service and the highest quality ingredients.”

Ms. Carlat said Scorpion Bay Grill is one of Peoria’s best kept secrets.

“While the beautiful environment that surrounds this desert gem is hard to beat, Chef Joe David has created an extraordinary menu that is attracting diners from near and far,” she said. “This is a place that invites you to stay longer and sip the afternoon away.”

Mr. David beams with pride when displaying various menu items including the Reuben and Joe’s Fish & Chips, which includes a unique zesty slaw. Although he protects these cherished recipes closely, one taste and it is easy to see how more than 120 lbs. of fish makes its way through the kitchen each day at the height of the boating season. Everything is fresh-made daily, and with an expert sous-chef on Mr. David’s team, known as the “Sauce Boss,” this one-of-a-kind restaurant has become a favorite destination for locals and visitors.

“Desert Troon Companies is known for perfecting the art of development and we are so grateful for how they have embraced our city,” said Ms. Binsbacher, who represents the area. “They offer a lot of fun things to do, right in our backyards, and I’m proud of the amazing relationship that we have created with the Scorpion Bay team.”

Scorpion Bay offers a variety of amenities to create a day of fun on the water. Visitors can rent from a large fleet of pontoon and sport boats, kayaks and water toys. Private events may be held on the restaurant patio or on one of the deluxe double decker private event boats, complete with a captain and crew, food and beverage options, and seating for 40 passengers.

Scorpion Bay Grill is located at 10970 Peninsula Blvd., Morristown. For additional information, visit scorpionbayaz.com or contact 928-501-3440.
