Peoria offers residential, HOA/multifamily rebate programs

Water conservation is a priority in Peoria.

Here are some of the ways the city has helped save water in 2024.

• 193,756 square feet of grass conversion
• 82 Landscape consultations
• 43 Events, 3,339 participants
• 613 rebates & water kits
• 890 million gallons saved since 2004

The city is offering the following single family residential rebates to residents.

• Grass Conversion to Xeriscape Rebate
Approved projects receive up to $3,000 depending on amount of grass converted and installed desert plant canopy coverage.

• Plant a select desert tree species (9 selections) to receive up to $50 per desert tree (max 2 per household).

• Install a WaterSense standalone smart irrigation controller to receive up to $250.

• Install a WaterSense high efficiency toilet to receive up to $100 per toilet (max 3 per household).

• In Ground Pool/Spa Removal Rebate

• Follow city permit requirements for removing an in-ground swimming pool and/or spa to receive up to $1,000.

Here are the multifamily, HOA and commercial rebates.

• Grass Conversion to Desert Landscape Rebate
Approved projects receive one dollar ($1) per square foot of grass removed, up to $40,000.

• Smart Irrigation Controller Rebate
Install a select central smart controller system (up to $500) or WaterSense standalone smart irrigation controllers (up to $250) for up to $2,000 max.
