Renewal Methodist Church announces new worship location, time

Posted

Renewal Methodist Church has announced a new location and time for worship services starting Sunday, June 29.

Services are moving to Sky View Elementary School, 8624 W. Sweetwater Ave, Peoria (just off the 101 and Thunderbird/83rd Ave), at 10:30 a.m.

Led by the Rev. Dr. Dirk R. Ellis, services are open to all, with biblical readings, scriptural sermon, music and communion as part of each service, with a time for reflection and fellowship following.

As a member of the Global Methodist Church movement, Renewal Methodist Church’s name is based on Romans 12:2 “. . . do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”

With its first meeting Dec. 13, 2024, Renewal Methodist Church did not see itself as a “new” denomination, but a “renewed” church, as it was returning to its original core values, as put forth by both scripture and founder John Wesley, “. . . committed to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, the inspiration and authority of the Scriptures, and the work of the Holy Spirit in conveying God’s truth and grace to all people.” (statement from the GMC website: https://globalmethodist.org/).

For more information, contact the church administrator Cherie Walton via email: renewalmethodistchurch@outlook.com or by phone/text: 757-639-1006.
