Join Recorded Recreational Reading for the Blind at their annual fundraiser: an auction and raffle event 1-4 p.m., Nov. 16, at Christian Church 9661 N. 59th Ave., Glendale.
Meet, greet, and listen to readings by selected local authors. Meet some of the readers and personalities from our recorded blogs, and KRUV Radio Sun. The event will have entertainment, homemade baked goods and craft items for sale along with "Let's Eat" volunteer's best cookbook.
All proceeds will support the Recorded Recreational Reading for the Blind program for free weekly recordings.
RRRB is a 50-year-old 501c3 volunteer-run recording studio operation providing a weekly news magazine for blind and vision-impaired people so that they may have access to their local news in an audio format. Along with the news, RRRB includes interviews with local organizations that include resources and opportunities for clients. The Talking News keeps clients connected with the community. It gives them the information to join community events and even work or volunteer opportunities. These connections and getting out reduce isolation and make for a healthier community.
