A popular local eatery is about to open its 22nd Arizona location in Peoria.

A 4,400 square-foot Pita Jungle, 9792 W. Northern Ave. Suite 1600, is expected to open this summer at Park West, near Loop 101 and Northern Avenue.

The restaurant is expected to bring about 70 part-time and full-time jobs into the city.

“We are thrilled about our newest restaurant at Park West, soon to be the premium destination in the West Valley,” stated co-founder Bassel Osmani in a news release. “Opening our 22nd location and introducing the Peoria neighborhood to ‘The Art of Eating Healthy®’ is the perfect way to celebrate our 25th anniversary this year.”

The new restaurant will feature a large main dining area and outdoor patio that flows into the interior through wide openings and a full bar. It will be the first location to bake its own flatbreads in a visual fashion right in the middle of the dining room, according to the release. The restaurant will be open for lunch, happy hour and dinner seven days a week, serving Mediterranean dishes, including a variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.

Each Pita Jungle restaurant has a unique mood and personality; it is designed to have a character that is reflective of the times and the locality. From the unique décor and original artwork by local artists, to the custom, handpicked music playlist and creative non-formulaic staff, there are no cookie-cutter locations at Pita Jungle, the release stated.

Mr. Osmani said the Park West Pita Jungle will “project an avant-garde perspective upon what the new roaring 20s will bring, highlighted by the surrounding geography and the promise of desert urbanism the city of Peoria has been beautifully delivering.”

With this addition, there will be 19 Pita Jungle’s in the Phoenix metro area, two in Tucson, and one in Flagstaff.

Park West is experiencing renovations and a wave of new tenants, with a grand re-opening planned for the fall.

In November 2018, CIRE Equity announced $4 million in updates to Park West, including an agave-shaped splash pad in the plaza, as well as wood-lattices, misters and greenery that will line the walkways of the center. Signs for Park West and its tenants will embellish both sides of Loop 101, while new monument signs will be at the exits along Northern and 99th avenues.

Additionally, the center has slated new tenants including Hash Kitchen, the Sicilian Butcher, the Sicilian Baker Cannoli Bar & Market and Jalapeno Inferno. Other additions include Forever 21,Koi Poke, Orange Theory Fitness and Creamistry.
