Peoria's Real Time Crime Center is having a grand opening

Posted

The Peoria City Council and Peoria Police Department have announced the grand opening of the Peoria Police Real Time Crime Center, a new state-of-the-art facility that will enhance the department's ability to fight crime and keep the community safe through real-time data and analytics, a news release said.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be 8 a.m., on Monday, March 24, at 23100 N. Lake Pleasant Pkwy.

The ceremony will be followed by a tour of the facility, showcasing its capabilities and features designed to improve law enforcement efforts.

The Peoria Police Real-Time Crime Center will play a pivotal role in centralizing resources to track and respond to high-crime areas, active crimes, and large-scale public events requiring law enforcement presence. By enhancing the department's ability to analyze real-time data, the RTCC will significantly improve response times and increase the effectiveness of crime prevention and investigation efforts, the release said.

This project is made possible through an intergovernmental agreement between the Peoria City Council and the Arizona Department of Public Safety. Through the agreement, DPS contributed $2.6 million to equip and operate the RTCC.
