The Peoria Unified School District was recently awarded the Certificate of Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International. The Certificate of Excellence demonstrates the district’s commitment to fiscal responsibility and financial reporting.
Peoria Unified earned the Certificate of Excellence for its Comprehensive Annual Financial Report for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020. This award demonstrates the district has met the COE program’s high standards for financial reporting and transparency.
Peoria Unified maintains copies of audited financial statements, budgets and related reports on the district’s website. Individuals can search annual financial reports by year and view information on how Peoria Unified spends dollars in the classroom.
“We are thrilled to receive the Certificate of Excellence for three consecutive years in a row,” stated Peoria Unified’s CFO Michelle Myers. “The district is focused on accurate financial reporting, transparency and stewardship of community resources.”
Peoria Unified School District is home to 42 public schools to fit the needs of all students, with more than 37,000 students and 4,000 staff, serving as one of the largest employers in the West Valley and one of the largest unified school districts in Arizona.
