As another demonstration of fiscal responsibility, the Peoria Unified School District recently was awarded the certificate of excellence in financial reporting from the Association of School Business Officials International.

The certificate of excellence recognizes that Peoria Unified has met the program’s  standards for financial reporting and transparency. Peoria Unified earned the certificate of excellence for its comprehensive annual financial report for the fiscal year ending in 2019.

“The COE’s mission is to promote and recognize excellence in financial reporting, specifically through a district’s [comprehensive annual financial report],” ASBO International Executive Director David Lewis said. “The CAFR informs stakeholders about the financial and economic state of the district, making it an important communication tool for building trust and engaging with the school community.”

Peoria Unified Chief Financial Officer Michelle Myers said the district is  proud to receive this honor.

“This certificate demonstrates Peoria Unified’s continued focus on accurate financial reporting and transparency for our community.”
