Peoria seeks public input on 67th Avenue project

Posted

The city of Peoria is asking residents for input regarding an improvement project.

The project will include 67th Avenue from Pinnacle Peak Road to Happy Valley Road beginning next year.

It will include widening 67th Avenue, a new waterline, regional drainage system, new streetlights, and ADA sidewalks on both sides of the road.

Transitional improvements will also take place at the north, south and west legs of the Happy Valley Road intersection to improve travel times.

Project design is expected to begin in 2021 with construction to follow.

This regional project serves the communities of Peoria, Phoenix, and Glendale.

It will occur over a number of years, with the initial phase of construction planned within the next 18 months when Glendale commences with construction of a 48" waterline.

Because large gatherings have been set aside for public health purposes, the city of Peoria is hosting a website dedicated to the project. The website includes a detailed video which describes all phases of work planned for the 67th Avenue corridor.

The website will accept public input until Oct. 7.
