Peoria residents can take a heart from 'The Giving Tree'

Posted

Employees from Larry H. Miller Dealerships are inviting the public to stop by any of the nine Metro Phoenix dealerships to pick a heart off “The Giving Tree,” a Christmas tree stationed in each showroom, adorned with hearts containing Arizona foster children’s holiday wish list items.

Larry H. Miller has three locations in Peoria: Hyundai Peoria, 8425 W. Bell Rd., Dodge Ram Peoria, 8665 W. Bell Rd., and Toyota Peoria, 8633 W. Bell Rd.

Donations will be accepted through Dec. 13.

“The Giving Tree” helps make the holidays a little brighter for foster children served by the Arizona Department of Child Safety.

After a heart is selected from “The Giving Tree,” Valley residents are asked to shop for their child’s desired items, which can then be dropped off at any of the dealerships.

There is no obligation to purchase all items on the heart and there is no minimum or maximum spending amount. All gifts, however, must be in gift bags and not wrapped.

DCS will distribute the gifts to children over the holidays.

Larry H. Miller Dealerships is hosting “The Giving Tree” program at dealerships across Arizona (12 total) to help foster children in Arizona feel loved and significant during a time that is often extremely difficult for them. It also strives to show the 700 children who enter foster care each month in our state, that they have the love and support of their community.
