Peoria receives $1,500 grant from Walmart
Posted
The Peoria City Council accepted a grant award in the amount of $1,500 from the Walmart Facility #1533 Community Grant Program to purchase necessary supplies for the city's Neighborhood Pride Program.
The Neighborhood Pride Program is a cooperative work effort between the city and residents that assists property owners within selected neighborhoods with improvement to their properties through the award of materials and volunteer labor. Improvements include painting homes, xeriscaping and minor exterior repairs.
As a community based program, staff works with multiple businesses to garner awards of funding, discounts and donated materials to supplement the existing budget.
Awarded funds will be expended within the first quarter of Fiscal Year 2021.
