Peoria Police seek assistance in locating endangered teen

Peoria Police is asking for the public’s assistance in locating Ahmaya Washington, a 15-year-old black female.

She is described as 4’9”, 130 pounds, with black and red hair and brown eyes. Ahmaya was believed to be wearing a brown jacket and black pants when she went missing. She was last seen Dec. 29, when she left a family members’ residence near the area of 83rd and Olive avenues.

It is unknown where Ahmaya may have gone, but she is known to frequent the areas of 30th and Van Buren streets as well as 32nd and Van Buren streets. Her family is concerned for her welfare and reported her missing Jan. 2 due to her not returning and them not being able to get a hold of her.

Officers have been actively looking for Ahmaya but have not been able to locate her. Anyone who sees Ahmaya is encouraged to contact the Peoria Police at 623-773-8311.
