Peoria Police launch new interactive incident map

Posted

In an effort to be more transparent, the Peoria Police Department in partnership with city information and technology staff have developed an interactive police incident map.

It is available to the public and can be found on the city website at: https://www.peoriaaz.gov/government/departments/police/online-services-and-information/police-incident-map.

The incident map represents a majority of reported police department incidents over the past 180 days.

In addition to seeing police incidents, the map provides the community the ability to filter information in order to look at their particular neighborhood or area of interest.

Another feature is the ability for a citizen to submit a tip should they have information regarding a particular crime.

Officials say the police department is striving to be more transparent with the citizens of Peoria and believe this program, along with the Crime Snapshot, is a way to do so.
