Posted

The Peoria Police Department recently presented the Peoria Police Citizens’ Academy Alumni with a community service award.

The award recognized PPCAA’s partnership with the Peoria Police Department over the past several years. The award cited PPCAA’s donations of electronic bikes, a canine, gym equipment, a trailer for the department’s honor guard as a few examples of the support PPCAA has provided to the department.

PPCAA said in a press release they are extremely grateful to the department for this recognition in support of the city's heroines and heroes in blue.

The mission of the PPCAA is to foster and promote a partnership among the community, the alumni, and the Peoria Police Department to aid in providing a safe and secure environment for Peoria Police officers and the residents they serve and protect.

PPCAA is a charitable fundraising organization that supports the mission of the Peoria Police Department, the Peoria Police S.A.L.T. Program, and the Peoria Police Citizens' Academy.

PPCAA volunteers are passionate about supporting law enforcement men and women and promoting positive community relations, the release said.

The organization fosters increased awareness regarding operations and practices of the Peoria Police Department.

The organization also helps to coordinate efforts among the PPCAA, the Peoria Police Department and the community, as well as pursues a wide range of resources such as grants, contributions, donations, etc., to support these efforts.
