Peoria Police Citizens Academy Alumni is celebrating National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
The hardworking dispatchers and public safety telecommunicators serve as a vital link between the Peoria community and the police department.
Every year the Peoria Police Citizens Academy Alumni creates gift baskets to donate to the dispatchers to show their appreciation.
They thank the communications team for their crucial contributions to the city's heroines and heroes in blue as well as the community. PPCAA also extends appreciation to Peoria Target stores for their generous donations of the gift basket contents.
This week PPCAA also celebrates members of the Peoria Animal Control Unit, and dropped off handwritten notes of appreciation and a coffee shop gift card for each member of the unit.
The recognition highlights PPCAA’s partnership with the Peoria Police Department. The PPCAA’s donations of electronic bikes, a canine, gym equipment, a trailer for the department’s Honor Guard are a few examples of the support the PPCAA has provided to the department.
The mission of the PPCAA is to foster and promote a partnership among the community, the alumni, and the Peoria Police Department to aid in providing a safe and secure environment for Peoria Police officers and the residents they serve and protect.
PPCAA is a charitable, fundraising organization that supports the mission of the Peoria Police Department and the Peoria Police Citizens' Academy.
