Through the Arizona Community Foundation, Arizona Public Service Co. (APS) and its parent company Pinnacle West are accepting applications for its annual West Valley Grants program.
The West Valley Grants are available and awarded to eligible nonprofits in west Phoenix, Glendale, Surprise, Buckeye, Tonopah, Arlington and surrounding areas. The 2021 application deadline is 5 p.m. Friday, April 30.
Since 2001, APS has partnered with Arizona Community Foundation to provide funding to eligible nonprofits that support growth and community needs in the West Valley. Agencies eligible for funding must be designated 501(c)(3) nonprofits and serve in the areas of arts & culture, community development, education, environment or human services.
“At APS, we are committed to empowering local communities through organizations and programs dedicated to improving the lives of Arizonans,” APS Community Affairs director Tina Marie Tentori stated in a news release. “The impact that these incredible organizations are having in the West Valley is inspiring year after year.”
In 2020, 16 West Valley nonprofits received a total of $155,000. Funds went toward a variety of causes, including a literacy program for youth, community food pantry support, career advancement programs, early education initiatives and more.
